Author Joe Crisara, known as “America’s Service Sales Coach,”was looking to capture his comprehensive sales system in an evergreen book that could be used to introduce ServiceMVP and his “Pure Motive Service” system to potential clients, while also serving as a reference guide for service business owners and technicians on how to create success. Pure Motive Service is about creating a relationship first so the client comes to know, like, and trust you and your company so much that they will stay customers for life. Joe teaches service businesses to let clients know about all the solutions available to them and then ask the question, “What should we do?” so they can sell themselves on the solution that is right for them.

Developmental Editing

For years, the system had been taught primarily in-person or via video tutorials. My challenge was to convert those verbal presentations into a compelling written format without losing the energy Joe brings to the stage. To do this, I put myself in the shoes of the service business owner and technician, and put myself through the online version of the 14-day course. I set about learning the entire system, and made note of where to flesh out concepts and connect the dots for readers who wouldn’t have immediate access to Joe if they had questions.

The result was a robust 423-page reference guide “What Should We Do? How to Win Clients, Double Profit & Grow Your Home Service Sales, which is slated for publication in March of 2024. The author also used the content to load into his own proprietary GPT as well as other AI-driven partner apps.

Book Project Management & Art Direction

Kept author in the loop but handled all nuts and bolts of book interior design and content with minimal impact on author’s time and attention. Searched for and vetted book promotion partner Stellar Communications Houston; worked with copy editor and book interior designer to optimize book interior design and content for book marketing and promotion.
